Azfar
English/General Paper (Secondary 1 - JC 2)

Azfar Anwar is an Oxford-trained educator and academic writing coach. He is calm, warm, and direct, and he takes students seriously without making learning feel heavy. He believes every student can write well when they have structure, clear feedback, and enough repetition to turn skills into habits. Azfar's teaching style is structured and outcomes-driven. He breaks down Academic English into concrete building blocks, such as thesis, topic sentences, evidence, explanation, and tone. He models strong answers, guides practice step by step, then moves students into timed work so they can perform under exam conditions. He keeps rubrics visible and runs a feedback-and-rewrite loop, because improvement comes from targeted revision, not just more writing. To him, English and General Paper are not only subjects. They are thinking skills. English trains clarity and precision. GP trains judgement, logic, and the ability to argue with balance, evidence, and relevance. He teaches students to read critically, spot assumptions, build thoughtful viewpoints, and communicate persuasively without being vague or overly emotional. He also teaches with inclusive routines that help students stay regulated and confident, especially neurodivergent learners. He uses scaffolding, chunking, predictable lesson flow, and executive function supports so students can focus on thinking rather than feeling overwhelmed.
“I teach because clarity is power, and every student deserves the confidence to think and express themselves well.”
